Alma -
Alma is proud to present its annual Fall Fine Art Auction. This auction is the culmination of a careful curatorial process, bringing together works from several significant estates and private collections, each reflecting a distinctive approach to Israeli and international art.
At its heart is the collection of the Osnat family, whose passion for art began with their great-grandfather in Germany. After fleeing to Israel at the outbreak of the Second World War, the family continued its tradition of collecting. Attorney Ami Osnat and his wife, Nurit, regularly visited galleries in Israel and abroad, choosing works with which they felt a personal connection. Among their favourite artists were Yaacov Wexler, Marcel Janco, Reuven Rubin and Naftali Bezem.
The auction also features works from the estate of Chava Genis, an academic and dedicated collector who studied art extensively, frequented exhibitions and developed close friendships with numerous artists. A substantial part of her collection was acquired directly from the artists themselves.
Two further private collections complete the sale: that of a Jerusalem gentleman who assembled a substantial collection of fine Israeli art over forty years, and that of a younger Tel Aviv collector with a particular affinity for modern and post-war art.
Together, these collections form a varied and deeply personal auction, shaped by decades of curiosity, discernment and a genuine love of art.
