1. How to participate 

You may participate in one of the following ways:

a) in person;

b) by telephone;

c) online upon registration on our website www.bertolamifineart.cz or on our partner portals (see list below);

d) by placing an absentee bid (to be received no later than 1,00 pm CEST on Thursday, 2 July 2026.

a. Saleroom

Unacquainted customers who have not already registered must provide a valid identity document.

b. Telephone

You may bid by telephone during the auction, with the assistance of one of our staff members. To participate

by telephone, you must make a reservation by 1,00 pm on Thursday, 2 July 2026, specifying the lots you

wish to bid for and providing a contact telephone number.

Registered clients will be called on the number provided shortly before the lots of interest are due to be

auctioned.

Please note: a telephone bid reservation shall be deemed a written bid at the lot’s starting price, as

indicated in the catalogue.

c. Online

You can participate in real time by registering on our website www.bertolamifineart.cz or on the following

platforms:

Note: registration on www.bertolamifineart.cz requires users to upload a valid ID. Registration is considered

complete only upon receipt of a confirmation email from the auction house.

d. Absentee

Absentee bids may be submitted by filling out the appropriate absentee bid form, or by means of a free text.

Absentee bids must be submitted by 1,00 pm CEST on Thursday, 2 July 2026. Bids may be sent via e-mail

(info@bertolamifineart.cz), by post, or delivered to our offices at:

The written bid constitutes authorization for the auctioneer to place bids on behalf of the signatory.

2. Pre-bidding

From the publication of the online catalogue until 1,00 pm CEST on Thursday, 2 July 2026, you may:

– place online bids on www.bertolamifineart.cz;

– place online bids on our partner portals ( SixBid and Numisbids) until 1,00 pm CEST on Thursday, 2 July

2026;

– submit absentee bids (see Section 1d).

In the event of:

- One single pre-auction bid on a lot

In the absence of additional bids during the auction, the lot will be awarded at the starting price even if the

sole bid received is higher (the pre-auction bid represents the maximum amount the bidder is willing to pay).

Example: Starting price € 1,000 – Single pre-auction bid € 1,500 – Lot awarded at € 1,000

- Multiple pre-auction bids of the same amount on the same lot

In the absence of additional bids during the auction, the lot will be awarded to the earlier bidder.

- Multiple pre-auction bids of the same amount on the same lot submitted via different portals

In the absence of additional bids during the auction, if bids of the same amount have been placed through

different portals, the lot will be awarded to the bidder who placed the bid on www.bertolamifineart.com, even

if this bid was submitted after those placed on the partner portal Bidinside.

- Multiple pre-auction bids of different amounts on the same lot

In the absence of additional bids during the auction, the lot will be awarded to the highest pre-auction bidder.

The hammer price will be calculated by adding a predetermined increment, as set out in the table below

(Table A), to the amount of the next lowest bid.

Example: Bidder A €1,270, Bidder B €1,800. Bidder B wins, not at €1,800, but at €1,370. The automatic

increment of €100 for bids within the €1,000–1,999 range is applied to the immediately lower bid.

3. Lot viewing

Lots will be available for viewing on 1 July from 10,00 am to 1,00 pm and from 3,00 pm to 6,00 pm at the

4. Payment

Successful bidders may choose from the following payment methods:

- Credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express);

- PayPal;

- Bank transfer to: Bertolami Fine Art S.r.l. (for non-EU bank transfers, please add €10 to the total invoice

amount);

- Cash (within the legal limit);

- For known clients only: non-transferable bank cheque or banker’s draft payable to Bertolami Fine Art S.r.o.

(for foreign cheques, please add €10 to the invoice total)

Settlement of the invoice must be made within five (5) days of its receipt.

Late payment penalty: beginning on the 31st day after the auction, overdue invoices will incur an interest

charge of 1% per month on the unpaid balance.

Note:

Invoices paid via cheque, cash, or bank transfer are exempt from administrative fees.

5. Buyer’s premium

The purchaser shall pay Bertolami Fine Art S.r.o. an auction fee equal to 26% of the hammer price of each

lot.

An additional commission applies to lots purchased online via www.bertolamifineart.cz or partner platforms,

as detailed below:

5. Additional charges

Shipping costs, any applicable customs duties, and fees associated with the issuance of export permits are

the sole responsibility of the purchaser.

In the event of unwarranted returns, the buyer shall also bear all resulting customs and shipping costs.

6. Lot description

Acting as an agent on behalf of the seller, Bertolami Fine Art S.r.o. accepts no responsibility for the origin,

descriptions, or valuations of the lots included in the catalogue, condition reports, or any other illustrative

material. All such descriptions are purely indicative and should be regarded as the personal opinions of our

experts.

7. Authenticity

In keeping with Bertolami Fine Art's well-established tradition, all coins offered for sale are guaranteed

authentic without time limits. The risk of possible misjudgments is covered by Lloyd's Error & Omissions

Insurance Policy.

Bertolami Fine Art provides, if requested, certificates of authenticity on the coins put up for sale in its

auctions.

Disputes concerning the authenticity of coins must be supported by a certificate drawn up by an expert of

recognised scientific authority. The certificate must detail the grounds on which the opinion of non-

authenticity is based and attach the results of any diagnostic investigations carried out on the coin. 

Opinions issued by grading companies have no value as valid certificates.

8. Cleaning and restoration

As is well known, it was common practice, especially in ancient times, to have classical coins, as well as

ceramics and sculptures, thoroughly cleaned, the surfaces integrated and the missing parts reconstructed. In

accordance with a policy of absolute transparency towards the customer, Bertolami Fine Art's experts

indicate the presence and extent of any ancient or modern conservation and/or restoration work in the

description of the coins offered for sale.

We will not accept any claims concerning restorations, repatination or similar interventions already indicated

in the catalogue.

Clients who purchase coins with the intention of having them encapsulated at a later date are reminded that

grading companies do not encapsulate significantly restored, tooled or heavily repatinated coins.

See Chart B (below) for further details on the nomenclature used to describe possible conservative and/or

restorative interventions.

9. Conditions of sale

The conditions of sale that govern the relationship between Bertolami Fine Art S.r.o. and the customers

taking part in our auctions are displayed in each catalogue. As these conditions are automatically accepted

from the moment you participate in the auction, please read them carefully.In the event of a discrepancy

between the conditions of sale published in the printed or pdf catalogue and the version that appears in the

online catalogue, the online version shall prevail.

10. Publication of auction results

Auction results will be published for information purposes on www.bertolamifineart.cz within ten (10) days of

the auction’s conclusion.

Untouched:

Coin that has never undergone either cleaning or restoration.

Cleaned:

Coin that has undergone operations to remove earthy parts, oxides, encrustations and other deposits without

the original patina and/or metal surface being affected.

Smoothed:

Coin that has had impurities and minor encrustations in the fields removed.

Tooled:

Coin that has undergone conservative restoration work (e.g. removal of bronze cancer) and/or reconstructive

work, also following particularly aggressive ancient cleaning.

Patina:

Original patina.
