KooKoo -

In Auction 49 KooKoo continues to connect collectors with intriguing voices in the contemporary art scene; alongside emerging artists, the sale also features creators who have already established significant standing both in Israel and abroad. This blend of discovery and proven quality transforms each sale into an opportunity to expand collections with an eye toward the future.

Leading the sale is Katia Lifshin-one of the prominent Israeli artists currently active on the international stage-who presents six new works from her latest series. This body of work explores female figures, performance, and the tension between visibility and vulnerability.

Noam Fromer, exhibiting at KooKoo for the first time, is a young Israeli artist currently based in New York and studying at the Grand Central Atelier. Her oil paintings focus on portraiture and the human figure-created from life-blending classical tradition with a contemporary sensitivity to light, form, and presence.

Michal Alkalay, one of the promising young voices in contemporary Israeli painting, will present a new series of oil paintings dedicated to the nightscapes of the Israeli street. Her works transform the everyday-"train-style" apartment buildings, neighborhood gardens, and streetlamps-into poetic images of memory, home, and belonging.

Alongside the younger generation, the sale will also feature works by several artists associated with the "New Barbizon" group-one of the most influential groups in Israeli figurative painting. Works by Zoya Cherkassky, Natalia Zourabova, and Anna Lukashevsky bring to the sale the presence of three key figures in contemporary Israeli painting.

Marloes Hakkers, Ruta Langford, and Marina Bat-El Levitan—whom we first introduced in *Pumbit 48*—return for this sale with new works that continue to establish their distinctive artistic languages and impressive bodies of work.

In honor of Rosh Hashanah, the sale will also feature a special selection of ten artistic ceramic works by master artist Rachel Kadmor-a prominent figure in the field of Israeli ceramic art. This body of work, which blends material, script, and Jewish tradition with a unique sculptural language, adds a further dimension of quality and collectibility to the sale.

Auction 49 continues the legacy of KooKoo as a meeting point for collectors and contemporary creators who possess a distinct voice and a cohesive artistic language-offering an opportunity to discover high-quality works by promising artists alongside established names, just before they enter other significant collections.
