LUFTWAFFE FLIGHT COLONEL'S UNIFORM
Excellent Luftwaffe Flight Colonel's Tunic with Pants. A terrific uniform includes Luftwaffe blue twill tunic, with four pockets and a four button front closure. Fitted with silver bullion embroidered collar tabs piped with silver braid, both expertly hand-applied to the lapels. Shoulder boards are sewn-in, each with two gold pips and secured with a silver pebbled button. A silver bullion Luftwaffe eagle on blue backing is sewn above the right pocket, and an Iron Cross ribbon with 1939 Spange to the Iron Cross affixed to it is sewn at the top buttonhole. There are many loops for medals and ribbon bar on left breast, with loop for two awards from a foreign government on the right breast. The jacket is fully lined and bears a tattered Leipzig maker's label at the collar. The liner split along seams at one point, and was repaired in the field. Breeches are present as well, fitted with two front slash pockets, a watch pocket and a back pocket. Front button fly and suspender straps all show use, with several period repairs. The breeches bear beige leather added along the inside of both legs and in the seat. Both legs taper to zippered closures at bottom, and both zippers are operational. A first-rate, original uniform.
