AMERICAN PILOT'S 'NAGASAKI' EMERGENCY MAP
Rayon map issued to American pilots for use in emergencies, 26 x 24 in., depicts the Japanese city of Nagasaki at center, along with southern Korea and Tsushima and including topographical details, railroads, currents, and prevailing winds. The verso of the map has the same features for the area around Kagoshima. This map was issued to the Army Air Corps in 1944 and a copy was likely aboard Bocks Car when it delivered an atomic bomb to Nagasaki on Aug. 9, 1945. Some soiling, stains, and edge wear.
