A silver Labbeh wedding necklace - Yemen 1850-1900
A row of square hollow silver links threaded on two strings, decorated with granulation and ball-shaped bell pendants and inset alternately with turquoise and red stones. followed by a row of flower-shaped links made with filigree and granulation and followed by ball-shaped bell pendants.

*Labbeh necklaces were given to the bride by her betrothed and was worn high on the neck, framing the face. It was considered one of the more important pieces of jewellery of a woman's wedding garb. It was later worn by the woman on important festive days.
