A RARE RUSSIAN OR CAUCASIAN SILVER KOVSH, 19 C.
A kovsh (drinking vessel) of the characteristic form decorated with engraving and applied niello. The Cyrillic letters read as "MOSCOW VLADIMIRSKY". The niello floral design is of a typical Pan-Slavic style with a touch of Caucasian influence. Weight: 17.0 oz., 484 g. Ca. 1880's.
