A vintage hand colored and detailed graphic art print on canvas after Cornelius David Krieghoff (Canadian, 1812/15-1872) original oil painting on canvas depicting a portrait of a republican man in a red cap holding a glass. Signed in the print lower left. Framed. Cornelius Krieghoff is known for the Frontier genre, animal and landscape painting. He was a Dutch Canadian painter of the 19th century. Krieghoff is most famous for his paintings of Canadian landscapes and Canadian life outdoors, which were as sought after in his own time as they are today. He is particularly famous for his winter scenes, some of which he painted in a number of variants.
