Antique book titled A History Of The Early Part Of The Reign Of James The Second With An Introductory Chapter By The Right Hon. Charles James Fox To Which Is Added An Appendix. In French. Published by W. Bulmer and Co. in London 1808. Charles James Fox, 1749-1806, was a prominent British Whig statesman. There is a coat of arms bookplate on the flyleaf with inscriptions Mens Conscia Recti and Tria Juncta In Uno, that indicates that the book belonged to the library of Right Hon. George Macartney, 1st Earl Macartney, 1737-1806, Anglo-Irish statesman and diplomat who served as the governor of Grenada, Madras and the British-occupied Cape Colony.
