ANTIQUE CHINESE CINNABAR LACQUER VASE
A vintage Chinese cinnabar lacquer vase carved with two reserves of flowering branches and rock work on a geometric patterned ground. The lacquer was applied coat by coat to the core in up to 200 coats until a thickness that could be carved was achieved. This art requires an enormous amount of time and labor as each layer must dry and be polished before the next layer is applied. Circa the 1920s. Vintage Chinese Art Collectibles.
