VINTAGE ENGLISH SILVER PLATED FOX STIRRUP CUP
A vintage English silver plated stirrup cup with a fox head for its base. Designed by Sheffield Silver Co. Hallmarked inside. A stirrup cup was used to serve a drink given to guests at the last moment before departure when they had their feet in the leather stirrups, hence the name. The stirrup cup was also used for drinks served at the meet before a foxhunt. Vintage Drinkware Collectibles.
