RIVER LANDSCAPE JAPANESE WOODBLOCK BY HIROSHIGE
Japanese color woodblock print depicting a river view with boats and mountains in the background. Hieroglyphical inscriptions in the lower left and upper right parts. A 1857 artwork titled View from Massaki of Suijin Shrine, Uchigawa Inlet, and Sekiya by Hiroshige. The print belongs to the One Hundred Famous Views of Edo series. Late Edo period, 1603-1868. Utagawa Hiroshige, 1797-1858, was a Japanese ukiyo-e artist, considered the last great master of this genre painting tradition. White mat, golden frame. Collectible Oriental Landscape Art, Japanese Woodblock.
Dimensions: Frame 17 1/2 x 12 1/2 in. Image 12 3/4 x 8 1/2 in. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Overall good vintage condition. Signs of age and wear. Yellowing, stains, spots, damage at the edges and on the corners. Refer to photos. Sold As Is.
