DON STACY AMERICAN MIXED MEDIA PAINTING AND BOOK
The lot includes a mixed media abstract painting on cardboard by Donald Stacy, also known as Don Stacy, American, 1925 to 2008, signed by the artist on the lower right. And a book: Drawing and Painting from Imagination: Utilizing Non-Classical Techniques by Don Stacy, published by Stravon Educational Press, 1980. Note: Don Stacy, born in New New Jersey 1925 received a Fullbright grant for study in France in 1953-54; Grant renewed 1954-55. Received a Pratt-Contemporaries scholarship in graphic art in 1958. Has exhibited widely and was presented to the New York scene by George Wittenborn in 1955. Represented in the graphic section of the 1969 Biennal at Kassel and is reproduced in Documenta II. Work included in private collections. Instructor in drawing and painting at the Art Center of the Museum of Modern Art since 1956. Mid Century American Art And Art Books For Collectors.
