HAND COLORED CHROMOLITHOGRAPH BY ALMA TADEMA
A hand colored chromolithograph by sir Lawrence Alma Tadema titled Under the roof of blue Ionian weather, Opus CCCLXIII. The artwork depicts aristocratic girls listening to a flutist. Signed by the artist lower right also titled: Op CCCLXIII. Housed in a gilded Art Deco frame. British artist Lawrence Alma Tadema, 1836 to 1912, drew inspiration for the title of the work from a letter from the famous English poet Percy Bysshe Shelley: We watched the ocean and sky together, under the roof of blue Italian weather.
