Attributed to Christian Wilhelm Ernst Dietrich, German, 1712 to 1774, an oil painting on canvas depicting a portrait of an old man with a beard. Probably inscribed, on the backside. Framed. Christian Wilhelm Ernst Dietrich was a painter and art administrator. In his own works, he was adept at imitating many earlier artists, but never developed a style of his own.
