David Roberts, Scottish, 1796 to 1864, a colored lithograph print depicting a view of Suez, a seaport city in Egypt, located on the north coast of the Gulf of Suez on the Red Sea. Signed and dated 1839 lower left. Matted and framed. David Roberts is especially known for The Holy Land, Syria, Idumea, Arabia, Egypt, and Nubia, a prolific series of detailed lithograph prints of Egypt and the Near East that he produced from sketches he made during long tours of the region.
