CUBAN MIXED MEDIA PAINTING BY LOLO SOLDEVILLA W COA
Lolo Dolores Nieto Soldevilla, Cuban, French, 1901 to 1971, mixed media casein painting on textile mounted on cardboard depicting an abstract composition, 1956. Signed and dated, lower right. Additionally inscribed in Spanish and dated 2012, on the backside. Completed with a certificate of authenticity from Marta Flora Carranza Barba, granddaughter of Lolo Soldevilla, certify that the work of art reproduced herein is an authentic work of art by Cuban artist Lolo Soldevilla, signed and dated July 22, 2012. Lolo Soldevilla is known for Mixed media panels with geometric shapes. Lolo Soldevilla was a painter, sculptor, draftsman and Cuban engraver. She was one of the most important representatives of abstract geometric art in her country, and is considered a seminal figure in the promotion of Cuban Art, especially Concrete Cuban art abstraction with international influence. She strongly rejected nationalist figurative work of the Vanguardistas, which pushed for radical social reforms. Her methods included painting, drawing and collage. One of a kind artwork.
