19TH C ANTIQUE RUSSIAN ORTHODOX ICON OF ST NICHOLAS
An antique Russian Orthodox hand painted icon of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. Inscribed in Church Slavonic, upper left and right. Saint Nicholas is painted frontally full figured wearing Bishop clothes, blessing with his right hand and holding Gospels with his left one, and the Holy Trinity above him. Framed.
