Erte or Romain de Tirtoff, Russian, French, 1892 to 1990, lithographic exhibition poster for the Circle Gallery, Soho, N.Y.C., Splendeur, Splendor, 1978. Inscribed in the print, lower right. Marked in the print, copyright 1978 Circle Gallery, Ltd., lower right. Marked, Imprimeur American Atelier, lower left. Framed. Romain de Tirtoff was a Russian and French artist and designer known by the pseudonym Erte, from the French pronunciation of his initials. He was a 20th century genius artist, graphic artist, illustrator, set designer, fashion designer, sculptor of the Art deco era, Russian origin, who worked in Paris and Hollywood.
