ANTIQUE JANE ERSKINE MINIATURE PAINTING AFTER STIELER
An antique French miniature portrait painting on a porcelain plate depicting Lady Jane Erskine after Joseph Karl Stieler, German, 1781 to 1858. From 1820 until 1855 he worked as royal court painter for the Bavarian kings. Housed in a wooden frame within a rim made of natural material. Circa the late 19th or early 20th century. Jane Erskine was a British noblewoman whose portrait was included in the Gallery of Beauties of the Bavarian King Ludwig I. Antique Female Portraits And Decorative Collectibles.
