MESOPOTAMIAN NECKLACE WITH LAPIS LAZULI SHELL PENDANTS
Ca. 1790 - 1630 BC A Mesopotamian Lapis Lazuli necklace crafted from twenty-seven shell-shaped pendants alternating with tubular golden beads. There are five shell-shaped pendants at its centre embellished with golden polygonal beads. Restrung. For similar see: Christie's Ancient Jewellery (11 December 2014), lot. 238. Size: 230/460mm x 15mm; Weight: 14g Provenance: Property of a London gallery; previously in a collection of a North London gentleman; formerly in a collection of Mrs B.
