Ca. 664 - 332 BC A lot of two butt caps from bronze age spears. The spear was a crucial weapon for the Bronze age people. Metal butt caps such as these examples would have been fixed to the opposite end of the spear to the sharp head and would have protected the wooden end of the spear and help to balance the weapon.
