A RARE PERSIAN EMPIRE BRONZE SPEARHEAD
Of characteristic form, with expanded, semicircular base and edges tapering slightly toward the tip. with pronounced central rib and obtuse point characteristic of the Luristan culture of west central Iran. Tapering integral socket would originally have been fitted with a wooden haft. With deep green patination overall. C. 1600-1200 b.c.e. Overall length 52.2cm/ 20 1/2?. Very good excavated condition.
