A superb princely firearm, the finely sandalwood stock inlaid with profiled elephant medallions, with ebony breach block, the trigger modeled as an openwork monster. With rare percussion lock which represented the most advanced firearms technology of the day. With steel sideplates and buttplate with pierced and profiled edges. The massive octagonal barrel wrought of the finest pattern-welded damascus steel with characteristic flared muzzle, held to the stock with profiled silver bands. With original ramrod. Dated on the butt 1833. Minor wear. Overall length 176.5 cm/ 69 1/2". Condition II
