A PERSIAN ARMOR SET
Qajar Dynasty, comprised of a well-embellished helmet, shield, and armguard of characteristic form, chiseled with panels of chiseled foliage, suns in splendor and Persian lions with silver inlay. The helmet of characteristic hemispherical form with elongated top spike, nasal bar and plume tubes, embellished with intertwining vinework, with a camail of steel butted rings with brass ring decoration. The circular steel shield elaborately chiseled en suite with the helmet and armguard, and set with four bosses and a brass rim. The bazuband raised from a single plate and chiseled overall en suite with helmet and shield. 19th century. Worn overall, silver inlay rubbed. Diameter of shield 47cm/ 18 1/2". STAND NOT INCLUDED. Condition III
