A large roman magical agate intaglio. Isiac divinity and inscriptions.
1st - 3rd century A.D.
24 x 27 x 4 mm
The isiac divinity is faced to the left, wearing a long dress, holding in her right hand a short curved knife, and in her left an instrument. She wears the atef crown with horns, feathers and disc. Around, inscriptions from right to left : APAPPABA θPAXθ On the reverse, inscriptions in" triangle shape": AAAAAAA EEEEEE HHHHH IIII OOO VV W
U.K., private collection 70's, in the same family since then.
