Landscape with dogs hunting a fox

The two fox hunting and wolf hunting scenes proposed in this lot and the next one show a compositional fluency and a close familiarity with the subject typical of a Nordic artist specialized in the genre and clearly indebted to the great Antwerp master Frans Snyders. We can appreciate the treatment of naturalistic rendering and the skillfull construction of groups of animals intent on fighting.
