Enzo Mascherini (Firenze 1910 - Livorno 1981)

After studying with Titta Ruffo and Richard Stracciari he debuted in 1937's La traviata. In 1939 he made his debut at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, and in 1940 at La Scala. After World War II began an international career, which took him to sing in Paris, Prague, Vienna, Chicago, Rio de Janeiro, London, San Francisco, Mexico City, in addition to the presence in the major Italian theaters. Between 1946 and 1947 he played at the New York City Opera La Bohème, La Traviata, Rigoletto, Andrea Chénier, The Barber of Seville, Pagliacci. On December 7, 1949 he made his debut with La bohème at the Metropolitan Opera, where he sang in the same season also La traviata, Rigoletto, Manon Lescaut, Faust, for a total of 7 performances. [1]. In 1949 he participated in the film version of Il Trovatore. In 1951 he sang The Sicilian Vespers, with Maria Callas, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and at the opening show of the Scala. Still on the occasion of the Milan theater season, again with Callas, he played the year after Macbeth. In 1955 he participated in Florence in a historic revival of Don Sebastiano. After retiring from the scenes he devoted himself to teaching. photography with handwritten signature of the famous baritone opera Tannhäuser.Excellent condition
