Attic Red-Figure Kylix, End of 5th century BC; height cm 7; diam cm 21,5; In the inner tondo, inscribed in a continuous meander, a standing young, represented in profile; the young holds a rod in his right hand, and he is facing an altar; a suspended strigil. On the external surface, a sequence of draped youths, characterized by a sketchy rendering; between them, altar, cista and suspended accessories, as sandals. Under the handles, stylized volutes departing from opened palmette. Restored with some reconstructions. Provenance: Private collection, London; acquired in Brussels from Alara Gallery on 1994; formerly in an old German collection (Düsseldorf).
