Collier's Photographic History of the European War. WWI book, 1916. Printed During the War!! Album Format, Many Photos – Battles – Fronts – Generals – Kings and Rulers Etc.
Fascinating large format album. Quality photos from the first half of WWI. First 9 pages have 54 photos of many of the political and military leaders of the involved countries. Rest of book presents a wide variety of photos of: arm factories, cavalry, snipers, trenches, destroyed towns and buildings, refugees, hospitals, artillery, ships and airplanes, many victims (including hard to watch photos), various fronts etc. Most battle scenes are illustrations.
We did not find any Jewish content in the book (except for a photo of a refugee family which might be Jewish) as the book was printed before the British occupation of Palestine.

ספר אלבומי מעניין מאוד בפורמט גדול. תצלומים איכותיים מהשנה הראשונה של מלחמת העולם הראשונה. בתשעת העמודים הראשונים יש חמישים וארבע תמונות של רבים מהמנהיגים הפוליטיים והצבאיים של המדינות הנלחמות, שאר הספר מציג מגוון רחב של כמעט הכל: מפעלי תותחים, פרשים במצעד , קן צלפים, תעלות, מבנים ועיירות שהושמדו, פליטים, בתי חולים, ארטילריה, ספינות ומטוסים, הרוגים רבים(כולל תמונות קשות), חזיתות שונות ועוד רוב סצנות הקרב הן תמונות של ציורים כשהמצלמה הייתה חטטנית מדי - לשימוש בקו החזית.
בספר זה לא מצאנו הקשר יהודי (מלבד תמונה של משפחה נודדת שייתכן שהם יהודים וכן תמונות חיילים שאולי חלקם יהודים) שכן הספר נדפס לפני שהבריטים כבשו את ארץ ישראל.
ספר מוקדם שנדפס תוך כדי המלחמה. אינו בספריה הלאומית וכן לא מצאנו אותו בבידספיריט
144 עמ', כולם מלאים צילומים. 30/42 ס"מ. פגמים לכריכה, באופן כללי מצב טוב מאוד.
