20 full page plates from works by Mortiz Oppenheim, describing religious Jewish family in Germany and its customs (Shabbat, Pesach, Sukkot, Brit Mila, Bar Mitzvah, Wedding etc.). plates are in red frames, with short description for each plate.
Oppenheim is a famed Jewish painter from Germany, and is referred to as the "first modern Jewish painter"!!
Introduction by Rabbi J. Hoofien, Rabbi of Utrecht and father of A.Z. Hoofien, early Palestine banker and economist. Rabbi Hoofien is famous for his unique book, an account of the Jewish history through religious eyes.
Plates are laid onto thick card.
