Extremely holy! This is where tzaddikim rested from their holy work. The bed that was used by the saintly Harav Yaakov Yosef of Skver and his son the Skverer Rebbe, shlit"a, in Eretz Yisrael. Folding bed.

In 1959, the Skverer Rebbe, shlit"a, married the daughter of the Yeshuos Moshe of Vizhnitz. The wedding took place in Eretz Yisrael and the chassan's father, Harav Yaakov Yosef of Skver, came to Eretz Yisrael for about two and a half weeks in honor of the occasion—this was the only trip he ever made to Eretz Yisrael. He stayed at the home of the Rubin family, the father of Harav Rubin of Rechovot. Due to the Rebbe's great saintliness and his scrupulousness not to rest in a bed that did not belong to him (possibly also due to concerns regarding shaatnez), Harav Avigdor Aharonowitz, a chassid who worked as a metalworker, made a bed especially for the Rebbe. After his visit, great care was taken that nobody else should use the bed. In later years, the bed was used when the Skverer Rebbe, shlit"a, came to Eretz Yisrael.

The bed comes with signed confirmation by R' Akiva Strauss, son-in-law of R' Avigdor Aharonowitz, that this is the bed his father-in-law fashioned especially on behalf of the Skverer Rebbe, ztvk"l and that his father-in-law R' Avigdor guarded it carefully throughout the years, bringing it to the Skverer Rebbe, shlit"a, when he came to Eretz Yisrael and taking it right back immediately after his return, both when he stayed at the home of Harav David Yitzchak Rubin and also when he stayed at the home of R' Aryeh Shechter.

In later years, when the Rebbe, shlit"a, visited Eretz Yisrael, he stayed at the home of Harav Hatzaddik R' Aryeh Shechter. When a member of the family was shown photos of thebed, he said that he remembered it, and indeed this was the bed that the aforementioned R' Avigdor had brought. The Rebbe, shlit"a, used it and then R' Avigdor took it back.

The bed also comes with signed confirmation from Harav Rubin that the Rebbe ztvk"l and the Rebbe, shlit"a, stayed at his father's house. He writes: "I remember from the house of my father, z"l, when I was a boy before my bar mitzvah, the time that K"k the Skverer Rebbe, ztvk"l, zy"a, stayed in my father's house in Bnei Brak, on Rechov Ohr Hachaim 41, for the occasion of the wedding of his son, the Rebbe, shlit"a, with Beis Vizhnitz in 1959.

R' Avigdor Aharonowitz, z"l, who was considered very close to Beis Skver at the time, brought a new bed for the Rebbe, zy"a, and after the Rebbe left our home, R' Avigdor, z"l, took the bed back.

When his son, the Rebbe, shlit"a, stayed at my parents' home on later occasions, it was unequivocally said that they had brought him the bed of his father, the Rebbe zy"a, which is mentioned above. After the Rebbe, shlit"a, left, it was said that R' Avigdor, z"l, took the bed back with him.

I cannot identify with absolute certainty from the photos i was shown that this is indeed the bed mentioned above, but it appears reasonably likely that indeed it is.

Specs: Metal folding bed. On the bed is a mattress filled with cotton? feathers? Width of bed: 194/90 cm. Height of bed: 38 cm. Width of mattress: 90/175 cm. Height of mattress: 10 cm. Height of bed when folded: 120 cm. Rust spots. Mattress is faded. General condition is very good.

בקדושה של מעלה!!! מיטת ארץ הקודש של הצדיקים האדמו"ר הקדוש רבי יעקב יוסף מסקווירא ובנו האדמו"ר מסקווירא שליט"א.

בשנת תשי"ט התקיימה שמחת החתונה של האדמו"ר מסקווירא שליט"א עם בת האדמו"ר ה'ישועות משה' מוויז'ניץ. החתונה התקיימה בארץ ישראל ואביו האדמו"ר רבי יעקב יוסף מסקווירא הגיע בפעם היחידה בחייו לארץ ישראל למשך כשבועיים וחצי והתאכסן בבית משפחת רובין אביו של הרב רובין מרחובות. מפאת גודל קדושתו של האדמו"ר והקפדתו שלא לנוח על מיטה שאינה שלו(ייתכן גם מחשש שעטנז) הכין עבורו המסגר החסיד הרב אביגדור אהרונוביץ מיטה שתהיה רק עבור האדמו"ר ולאחר ביקורו שמר עליה מכל משמר שלא ישתמשו במיטה זו כלל ובאמת בשנים המאוחרות יותר המיטה באה לשימוש כשהאדמו"ר מסקווירא שליט"א הגיע לארץ ישראל.

מצורף אישור חתום מר' עקיבא שטראוס חתנו של הרה"ח ר' אביגדור אהרונוביץ שמעיד וחותם כי זו המיטה שחמיו הכין במיוחד עבור האדמו"ר מסקווירא זצוק"ל וחמיו ר' אביגדור שמר עליו במשך כל השנים וכן הביא אותה כשהאדמו"ר מסקווירא שליט"א הגיע לארץ ולקח אותה מיד לאחר נסיעתו הן כשהתאכסן אצל הרב דוד יצחק רובין והן כשהתאכסן אצל ר' אריה שכטר.

בשנים המאוחרות יותר כשאדמו"ר שליט"א כששהה בארץ הקודש, התאכסן אצל הרה"צ רבי אריה שכטר ולאחר שהוצגו תמונות המיטה בפני אחד מהמשפחה אמר שזוכר את המיטה ואכן זוהי המיטה שהביא ר' אביגדור הנ"ל ואדמו"ר שליט"א השתמש בה ולאחר מכן ר' אביגדור הנ"ל לקח אותה חזרה

כמו כן מצורף אישור חתום מאת הרב רובין שהאדמו"ר זצוק"ל והאדמו"ר שליט"א התארחו בבית אביו, שבו כותב כך וזה לשונו: מה שזכורני מבית אבא ז"ל, בהיותי נער לפני הבר מצוה מזמן שהוד כ"ק אדמו"ר מסקוורא זצוק"ל זי"ע התאכסן בבית אבי בעיר בני ברק רח' אור החיים 41 לרגל חתונת בנו כ"ק האדמו"ר שליט"א עם בית ויזניץ בשנת תשי"ט

הרה"ח ר' אביגדור אהרונוביץ ז"ל שהי' נחשב אז למקורבים מאוד בבית סקוורא התעסק בהבאת מיטה חדשה עבור אדמו"ר זיע"א ואחרי שאדמו"ר זיע"א נפרד מלהתאכסן בבית לקח ר' אביגדור ז"ל את המיטה אליו

וכשהרבי בנו האדמו"ר שליט"א התאכסן בבית הורי עוד פעמים, בקול דלא פסיק אמרו אז שהביאו לו את המיטה של אביו האדמו"ר זיע"א המדוברת הנ"ל, ואחרי שנפרד הרבי כ"ק אדמו"ר שליט"א גם אמרו שר' אביגדור ז"ל הנ"ל לקח את המיטה אליו.

אינני יכול לזהות בבירור ובוודאות מתוך התמונות שהציגו בפני שאכן מיטה זו המוצגת היא המיטה המדוברת הנ"ל אבל ממה שראיתי יש סבירות מסוימת שאכן זו המיטה המדוברת.
