מכתב בעצם כתב יד קדשו של מרן הגאון רבינו עובדיה יוסף.
בתחילת המכתב מעיד על עדים כי מכירם עוד מתקופתו בהיותו בקהיר בהמשך המכתב כותב בעניין ההלכתי 'עד מפי עד' בגיטין וכו'. במכתב גם מזכיר את תאריך הגעתו לקהיר ביום י"ג אלול תש"ז.
המכתב נשלח אל הגאון רבי ישראל אריה ספיר ובסופו כותב דרישת שלום להגאון רבי ראובן כץ אב"ד פתח תקוה, הגאון רבי י"מ בן מנחם וליתר הרבנים שליט"א.
