Original photo-illustrated tan wraps with black lettering on cover. Documentation of one, if not the worst case of destruction of a major European city during World War II. Illustrated with haunting black and white photographs of the destruction in the city of Warsaw, in many cases juxtaposed with photographs after the completed rebuilding process. The text is a detailed account of the three phases of the destruction of the Polish capitol: 1. The destruction during the siege of Warsaw by the Germans in September 1939 2. During the time of the German occupation 3. During the Warsaw Insurrection in August and September 1944.
