Hadassah is the main Zionist Women's Organization in America. The organization, based in New York, operates in Israel and the United States in the fields of health and education. Hadassah was founded in 1912 in New York by a group of women headed by Henrietta Szold, who raised the idea of directing women's efforts in favor of practical Zionism in the field of medicine in Eretz Israel.
