TWO ALFONSO T. TORAN STILL LIFE PAINTINGS SIGNED
Alfonso T. Toran (American, 1896 - 1965). Mid Century Modern Hollywood Regency Style. Oriental still life paintings of figurines with vases of flowers. Signed. In original frames. Oil on board.
In 1935 Alfonso Toran was the director of the Creative Studios of Art & Decoration in New York City. Toran painted murals in New York for the Hotels Delmonico, the Pierre, the New Yorker, the Waldorf-Astoria, Texaco and Chrysler Buildings.
Toran had a winter studio in Hollywood, Florida. A painter, decorator, designer, lecturer, writer and teacher, Toran received awards for his work in Italy, France and the United States. He was listed in Who’s Who in American Art in 1947 and 1959.
