Rogers was "born in South Orleans, Massachusetts, (and) grew up in Worcester. (He) studied at the Scott Carbee School of Art, Boston. After (the) 1929 Depression (he) moved to Cape Cod (where he) had a studio and a house in Chatham." "Wendell Rogers was a painter, art teacher and camera enthusiast. The best known of his picture in the Society's collection is his Main Street in Winter.
