Attributed to Rev. John Landrum Pottery, Horse Creek Valley, Edge field district, S. Carolina.
Clay jar with alkaline glaze and two lug handles, used to store lard or meat.
Marked with four slash marks near the foot.
Provenance: Descended through family, originated at the Daniel Plantation in South Carolina, pre-civil war. Bought by current owner at auction.
