2 Vintage Quilt Tops - Old Italian Design
2 Vintage quilt tops with using the Old Italian Design block, see how difference between sashing and no sashing! Larger one is c1930s, 70x79". Comprised of 56 blocks, 8x8", set straight, 7 by 8, with a 2" orange floral print inner border and 5" muslin outer border. It is machine pieced and in very good condition. The second quilt top is c1900 measures 50x62", with 30 blocks, 8x8", set straight, 5 by 6, with 2.5-3" sashing. It is hand and machine pieced and is in fair condition with fading, split seams, spots, and primitive workmanship. These quilt tops are part of the Living Estate of widely respected Sharon Stark of Sharon's Antiques Vintage Fabrics and Textiles of Eastern PA. She was an author and long time collector and dealer of antique quilts, fabrics and textiles. Sharon is the authority on Feedsacks, and you may remember her Rickrack website.
