Antique White Wholecloth Bride's Quilt with Quilted Owl Motifs, measures 79 x 77 inches. Believed to represent the Order of the Owls. The motifs are quilted medallion style with a 24 inch hand quilted star burst in the center with a bird in flight at the very center of the starburst. The starburst is set in a frame about 47 by 47 inches, in that frame surrounding the starburst are pairs of birds between each starburst point. The birds all have buttonholes stitched eyes. Other quilted motifs include hanging diamond, undulating vine, Greek key, and floral motifs. It is very densely hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and a white solid cotton reverse. The edge is finished with the front brought to the back, applied by hand, extremely narrow at under and an eight of an inch. It is in good condition with a few small spots. This is one of the most densely quilted, and interesting, solid white whole cloth quilts I've seen in a long time. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
