A varied collection of WWII paper ephemera from both the home front and battle front. Includes: Books: The Vest from Yank-The Army Weekly. 1945; and "Up Front" Text and Pictures by Bill Mauldin. 1945. Large zipper portfolio containing a packet of reprinted wartime Chicago Tribune front pages, as well as 4 various laminated front pages, and 5 headline pages signaling Victory in Japan,, Bataan Recaptured, US Flag over Manila, 3rd Army Deep in Austria. Fragile, but display nicely. Selection of 15 YANK magazines, and 17 mostly complete Stars and Stripes newspapers-Mediterranean editions. 9 smaller framed and 24 loose clipped cover pages of Saturday Evening Post, sheet music, and other wartime related ephemera. Three larger framed newspapers including a history of "Skeezix" from 1/23/1944, Laminated Germany Surrenders front page-Chicago Herald American, and The Chicago Sun Comics dated Sunday Dec 7, 1941. To cap the collection off is a nice clean Civil Defense helmet. Framed pieces can be de-framed for easier shipping.
