WWII General Coats-101st, 82nd, SHAEF Education
A trio of US Army General's "Ike Jackets" that were put together for educational WWII display purposes. All have a variety of ribbon bars and badges that have been added. The two CIB's are Sterling silver. One has sterling clutchback fasteners. Two are Major General's (2 Star) and the third is a Full General (4 Star). The Two Stars have divisional insignia for the 82nd Airborne and 101st Airborne Divisions (Modern manufacture? Size 34R). The 82nd Airborne jacket (dated 1944, size 36R) comes with all period correct shirt, necktie and overseas cap. The Full General coat (size 34S, dated 1947) has a SHAEF patch on left shoulder and SHAEF vertical pin back, distinctive unit insignia on the lapels. Of note on this jacket is a Legion of Merit (right side) with the name "Christine B. Cox" inscribed on back and a 1941 Maneuvers badge on the left side. It also has an extra SHAEF post WWII patch and copy of Eisenhower's "Great Crusade" letter in the coat pocket. These three look great when placed next to each other in a display.
