'Germany Awakens' - complete album. Berlin, 1933

Deutschland erwacht - Germany Awakens. The most popular card album during the Reich years. Published by Cigaretten-Bilderdienst Hamburg-Bahrenfeld. An entire album with the large panoramic map (110 cm) at the end - a photograph of the party conference in Nuremberg, all in perfect condition. Germany 1933.

The album covers the rise of the Nazi movement (the NSDAP - the Nationalsozialiste Deutsche Arbeiterpartei) from its beginning in 1920 when it numbered only 3,000 members, and during the 1920s, during which Hitler established his status as a talented speaker to a growing audience until the takeover of power by the Nazi Party in 1933. The album contains dramatic descriptions of a Nazi party propaganda system that used various elements of attracting public opinion, concentrating on both the rise of the führer and the sympathetic response of the German public to the Nazi Party and all it represents - flags, mass street parades, Symbols, orchestras, folk songs, Hitler jugend (Hitler youth), and Other means of gathering members. The album had a major impact on the German youth who were exposed to it in their teenage years, and then served the idea themselves as SS soldiers during World War II.

The album is accompanied by 225 photo cards distributed in the packets of cigarettes intended to complete the album. Before us is a whole album with all 225 cards. Heinrich Hoffman - the official photographer of the Nazi Party and personal photographer of Adolf Hitler - edited the album and his photographs. Historical documents faithfully reflect the rise of the Nazi party's power in years when Europe still did not know her strength power and the magnitude of its devastation.

The album and cards also appear in the permanent display at the "Holocaust Photography exhibition" at the Yad Vashem Museum in Jerusalem.
