Accompanied by dozens of engravings of biblical scenes and temple vessels. On the title page is an engraving of the scene of Elijah and the false prophets, on the corresponding page is a portrait of Josephus and under it priests in their special attire to hint at the origin of Josephus himself - who was a member of a well-born family of priests - the first of 24 priesthood (according to the 'Life of Joseph').
