What do the Germans say? - An Anti-Nazi Cartoon Booklet in Arabic, 1940s

"What do the Germans say? - A Book for Students with Fourteen Illustrated 'Lessons' and with an Explanation of the Strange Statements Said by Nazi Leaders" - a booklet of colorful cartoons accompanied by a kind of dictionary explaining the special intent of the Nazis in using common words - rare anti-Nazi publication in Arabic. No publisher name, place, or date [around 1940].

The titles of the "lessons" were written in German, and the description in Arabic. For example, in the first lesson, which presents a painting of the Dove of Peace, it is written: "The Germans offered peace to the world more than once, peace as their custom is: a call to stop fighting and give the aggressor what he wants ...", On another page under the heading: "Violation of the rules of neutrality" in which a German soldier is seen kicking a local resident, the definition is: "Behavior contrary to the rules of neutrality means that the neutral state refuses to submit to Nazi slavery ...". On another page showing Nazis disguised as different nationalities, the definition is: "The persecuted German minority" meaning "a community of German campaigners living outside German borders made up of highly trained German spoilers to create rebellion and intrigue". In the sixth lesson is a drawing of an inmate in an SS prison, the author brings the Nazi definition to the word 'criminal' - "the criminal is any person who does not accept Hitler's views and does not give in to his will." In Lesson 10, a cartoon mocking racism. There is a painting depicting the short slender Goebbels, the fat Goering, and the black-haired Hitler, it is written: "The Aryan race is the most delicate race, it is the race that has created cultures. The distinctive characteristics of the Aryan man are that he is blond, slender in body, and tall. It means that he is as blond as Hitler, as thin as Goering, and as tall as Goebbels ...
