Janus Kass (1927-2010) Hungarian illustrator, printmaker, graphic designer, postage stamp designer, director and animated film teacher. Born in Szeged, he was the master of design for the first digital animated film. Student of Gyula Hincz, György Kádár and György Konecsni. Kass has regularly taken part in every major national exhibition at home and abroad. He had solo appearances in Italy (1963), Australia (1970) and Switzerland (1976). He has participated in the Venice Biennale (1960), the Paris Youth Biennale (1961), and the Biennale in Lugano, Tokyo, Ljubljana, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires, as well as the "Intergraphic" exhibitions in Berlin. Kass's drawings, engravings and silkscreens were displayed at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge in 1989 and 1990 at the London Olympics. He later held a solo show in Edinburgh.
