Henry Harper - one of the greatest English painters of the 19th century, made many visits to the "Lands of the Bible" and documented his impressions in paper drawings. "The purpose of the present publication is to permanently preserve a representative series of his drawings, and of his own descriptions of the sketches and scenes from which they were taken." The book includes 55 illustrations from the author's paintings on his journey to palestine, on thick and fine chrome paper.
