Nazi propaganda pamphlet for the forced elections of 1933 in Germany, in which the Nazi party finally seized power

1933 EIn Kampf um Deutschland - 'The Struggle for Germany' Propaganda Booklet of the Nazi Party Ahead of the German Reichstag Elections in November 1933, published by the Geamtverband deutscher antikommunistischer. Berlin, 1933. Rare.

In February 1933, the process of turning the regime in Germany into a dictatorship began. Throughout that year steps were taken to strengthen the Nazi regime. In early March, shortly after the Reichstag burned down, the last "elections" were held under Hitler's rule. Despite the propaganda campaign and intimidation the Nazi party failed to get a majority - it won 44 percent of the vote. Hitler saw this as a failure and accelerated the pace of his takeover of the country. The powers transferred to the Nazi Party multiplied and the street was controlled by S.S. and S.A. thugs. The Nazis enacted laws that transferred to them all the powers of the state. Between June and July, all parties were expelled from the Reichstag with violence, threats and legislation. On July 14, the "Law for the Existence of the Nazi Party as a Single Party" was enacted, declaring that only the Nazi Party is allowed, and any other party is prohibited and against the law. Thus was completed the transformation of the regime of the Weimar Republic into a one-party regime granting unlimited authority to the ruling party.

In November of that year, "elections" were held in the form of a binding "referendum" for the Reichstag, and 661 deputies from the Nazi party were elected. It was the last time towards the unchallenged control of the Nazi party that the government needed the German people to strengthen its authority. The pamphlet before us has come out in preparation for these forced "elections", and it shows the manner in which the party has brutally taken over, and the binding instruction on how to vote. For example, it appears in it, as a conclusion from everything stated in it: "On November 12, each voter receives two ballots, one for the referendum on Reich government policy on green paper, and one for the Reichstag election if the list of representatives of the Nazi party. In both cases the voter must mark the ballot in" Yes". The pamphlet, which appeals to the German people after about a year of brutal takeover of all governing bodies, is written in the spirit of party values and presents Adolf Hitler as a savior who only has the power to restore Germany to greatness. It emphasizes that the burning of the Reichstag building that year (An act known to have been committed by the Nazis themselves) posed a significant threat to German rule, and everything must be done to eliminate the forces opposing it, and return 'Germany to the Germans'.
