"We Tell the Mizrayim story While the Danger of Egypt Hovers Over Our Heads" - A Non-Traditional Haggadah Printed at the Time of the Egyptian Threat, Ness Ziona 1956

Non-traditional Haggadah published by the General Workers Union with the assistance of the Pioneer Youth Department, Ness Ziona Workers' Branch, 1956. Stencil Print with illustrations. Texts refer, inter alia, to the Egyptian threat to Israel that year.

"We are ready and ready to open the Passover Seder and tell the Exodus together with Israel and members of the youth branch working in Ness Ziona." In the text of 'Ma nishtana' mention the threat of the Egyptians from the south:' Ma nishtana ... Of all the nights we tell in the Exodus while the danger of Egypt is hovering over our heads? ', The text of 'Vehi sheamda' omits the name of G-d:' In every generation stand to destroy us and we Saved to life from them'. An amusing text appears on 'The Ten Plagues Blessed by the Ness Ziona Branch: Excess Couriers and Guides, Excess Money and Exemplary Tax Pay ...'. The text of "One mi Yodeha" refers entirely to the Ness Ziona branch: "One youth branch working in Ness Ziona ... four groups in the senior level in the branch ... six complete benches in the branch ... twelve members pay taxes ....".and more.

On July 18, 1956, British forces withdrew from the Suez Canal in agreement with the Egyptians. The military buildup and backing from Jordan and Syria, as well as the need to finance the construction of the Aswan Dam, led Egypt by Gamal Abdel Nasser, to announce the July 26, 1956 nationalization of the Suez Canal Company. Which in fact exacerbated the Egyptian threat to Israel that eventually led to the "Sinai War."
