SET OF HERO OF THE SOVIET UNION MEDALS
Lot of two (2) Soviet badges: ‘The Golden Star’ (1 in., 2.25 in. with ribbon), and the ‘Order of Lenin’ (1.5 in., 3.5 in. with ribbon). Both items in very good condition. The title Hero of the Soviet Union was the highest distinction in the Soviet Union, awarded personally or collectively for heroic feats in service to the Soviet state and society. The first recipients of the title originally received only the Order of Lenin, the highest Soviet award, along with a certificate, the Gold Star medal was introduced on August 1, 1939.
